Testing Newton's Laws

Wednesday the 31st of October was a very enjoyable day. It was the day that we tested Newton's laws using cars. We rammed  two cars together and observed closely as they demonstrated the results of impacts from six different positions. They twisted, flipped and fell of tables. Some chipped but know one made a big fuss. No one was hurt in the testing of these crashes as they were toy cars.

Westmere Walkway

It was a lovely, bright, and sunny day on Thursday, Room Six and Room Five was attending the Westmere Walkway for a practise walk for our camp.  Mr Waite had told us everything that we need to know about the walk so we were well prepared.  At the start of the walk we were walking upwards on a slope, it looked easy at first, but after a few minutes my legs started to hurt.

Soon we started to see some trees,  these trees looked like broccoli, and a lot of people thought so too.

We were walking on a path that took us from the start to the end.  The path was horrific, covered with slippery and mushy mud, but the that's not half as bad the cow droppings, they were everywhere, it was like I was jumping for the whole way (5.4 Km).

Now that I've talked about the cow dropping, I'm going to talk about the cows themselves.  Half way through the walk our class had an encounter with a large group of friendly cows, "AAH!" yelled most of the girls, this really annoyed me because I just can't stand hearing girls yell, it's just so annoying and there's one thing I just couldn't believe, some boys got scared themselves.

This walk was a good experience for me because I've never walked on land like Westmere Walkway before.

Recount/Hockey

Last week on Wednesday I played hockey with my team, The Hurricanes.we were facing St Anne's the game was really challenging because St Anne's players were really fast.I was defending the goal when suddenly one of St Anne's players whacked the ball in the direction of the goal, I stopped it, but at a price, the hockey ball damaged my finger, and I missed a day of School!

Roles, Rules and Laws

On Friday 23rd March Room 6 and I went to Wellington to learn about roles, rules and laws.We went to Parliament, Archives and the Police Museum in Porirua.

First we went to the Police Museum in Porirua. In there we met Sophie, The Museum Guide, she showed us some old criminal photos. We also had to solve a mystery that was set out forbus, it was really fun.

After that we went to see a Police driver trainer his name was Peter Jardine. He showed us how handy Police car lights are. The most interesting thing that I learnt was that Police cars are Holden car with stickers on them.

After having lunch at Aotea Lagoon we went to Archives NZ. When I went in there the room was dark, it was dark because the light could damage the treaties and letters from the Queen. I started to look for the treaty of Waitangi, because last year we learnt all about it.

Last of all we went to Parliament AKA Bee Hive. Before we could get in we had to go through a metal dectector lucky it did not go off, I thought it would because my leaders badge has metal on it. When we got in we went to the debating chamber it looked smaller than I thought it was. It looked amazing I could even see a gold cymbal on the roof.

This is so far the best trip I've been to, but it could change because in five more mounths we are gonig to camp!
